Display Case Reservation Request

Display Case Guidelines

Morley Library welcomes non-commercial exhibits and displays of interest, information and enlightenment to the community by individuals, organizations or community groups.  A display case on the first floor and another in the Genealogy Room on the second floor are available for such displays.

The first floor display case consists of two lockable, glass-enclosed cabinets, each above two sloped fixed display shelves, one on each side of 5 open bookshelves.  Each glass cabinet is 4’ 6” high and 38” wide.  Each cabinet has two adjustable wooden shelves each 6” deep and a bottom shelf, 10” deep.  One or both sections of the display case may be reserved.

The Genealogy Room display case consists of two lockable, glass-enclosed cabinets, each 3’10” wide, 4’ high, and 12” deep, with two adjustable shelves.

Conditions of Exhibition:

*  The exhibits or displays will meet acceptable community standards.

*  All exhibits must be approved by a designated representative of the library.
   The Library reserves the right to accept or reject the contents of each display.

*  An application for exhibits or displays will be made at the reference desk. 

*  Reservations will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
   Space may be reserved for one calendar month and only once in a calendar year.  Reservations may not be made more than one year in advance.

*  All exhibits must conform to the space restrictions of the display areas. 

*  Individuals and organizations providing materials for displays may be acknowledged with a sign, not larger than 3” x 5”, indicating “Materials in this       display are provided by…”   No items may be sold nor may prices be posted.

*  The sponsoring individual or group is responsible for the creation, set up and removal of the display in a timely manner. 

*  Morley Library assumes no responsibility for the preservation, protection or possible damage or theft of any item exhibited or displayed.  All items placed in the library are done so at the owner’s risk.  All exhibitors will sign a form that releases the library from any responsibility for exhibited items.

*  By granting use of the display case Morley Library neither advocates nor endorses the viewpoints of any display or exhibit.
