Genealogy & Local History

Morley Library has a special collection to help those interested in researching their family genealogy and local history.

Our Genealogy and Local History room will be open to the public for drop in independent use during regular library hours. Please note that advance appointments are strongly encouraged if you need assistance as our genealogy staff works part-time.  Appointments can be scheduled by calling the reference department at 440-352-3383. 

If you have a personal research project, please schedule an appointment with our genealogy staff for a tutorial to get you started.

**Please be advised that staffing is part-time only, so replies to genealogy requests may take up to a 3 - 5 days. We will complete your request in the order it was received in our queue as soon as we are able. Thank you for your understanding.**

The menu to the left is a list of materials that can be used in doing local research for the Lake County area. Lake County was a part of Trumbull County (1800-1806) and Geauga County (1806-1840) and Cuyahoga County (Willoughby only, 1810-1840).
