Adult Summer Reading Program 2019

A Message from Mission Control:

  1. Register on the 3rd floor at the Reference desk.

  2. Read a book. (Sorry, children's books under 300 pages do not count.)

  3. Record the book title, author, and your contact information, clearly and legibly, on the reading sheet.

  4. Circle your prize package of choice from the list to be entered into that specific grand prize drawing.

  5. Return completed reading sheets to the READ box located on the 3rd floor Reference desk.

  6. Attend special events for out-of-this-world giveaways and additional grand prize entry tickets.

  7. Repeat steps 2-6 as many times as you are able during the 8-week reading program.  The more you read, the more changes you have to win!

Tuesday, June 18  

3rd floor Book Stacks  

Mr. Hawking has moved!  Use today's new clue (#2) to search for him in the 3rd floor book stacks).  PLEASE, DON'T REMOVE HIM FROM HIS HIDING PLACE!  Once you find him, submit your answer on a ballot and drop it in the prize drawing box.  You do not have to physically find Mr. Hawking, just guess his location from the clue, or use the clue to look up a fitting book title.  New clues will be available on Tuesdays: July 2 & July 16.  The winner will be the patron with the most correct responses.  All ballots due by 5:00 PM on Friday, July 19.

Gather around the campfire for some fantastic short stories.  We'll have hot cocoa and marshmallows, too... because you can't have a campfire without marshmallows! (note: it is an artificial fire)

Design your own night sky on canvas using mixed media.  Mixed media means that we will be using multiple art mediums, such as paint, paper, glue, fabric, etc. This craft may be a bit messy, please dress accordingly.

Meeting Room A

Choose from vanilla or chocolate ice creams to start your sundae.  Then, top with a sampling of syrups and candies.  Try astronaut ice cream and dehydrated fruits, too!  All ages welcome.  Children must be accompanied by an adult, please.
