Fall Storytime Break:

The Children's Room takes a break from regular weekly storytimes in November and December. The 7-week Winter Storytime Session begins on Monday, January 6th. During the break please join us for the following programs and storytimes:

Toddler Playtime:

Ready, set, play! Join caregivers and children ages 3 and under for a fun open playtime in the Story Room. We provide the toys, you provide the play! Your child will enjoy playing with toys designed to help reach developmental milestones. Caregivers must stay with children in the Story Room. No registration needed.

Join us for special Holiday-themed storytimes during the week of December 16th. No registration needed.

Winter Storytime Schedule:

The Winter Storytime Session runs for 7 weeks from Monday, January 6th through Friday, February 21st, 2020. Click on the times below to register for a storytime starting Monday, December 30th, or call us at 440-352-3383. Select the storytime on the Library Calendar for registration prompt. Many of our storytimes are drop-in and require no registration. 

Monday:

Toddler Tales:

For children 3 years old and younger. Child attends with caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, and flannelboards especially for little ones. Help children develop a life-long love of reading and the Library. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks. No registration needed.

Play-based exploration stations geared towards toddlers 3 and under with a caregiver. Explore stations designed to promote early learning and discovery. No registration needed.

Books at Bedtime:

For children 18 months through 5 years. Child attends with caregiver. Join us for a bedtime storytime! Kids can wear their PJs and cuddle with a stuffed animal. Stories, songs, a flannelboard and a craft are included. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks. No registration needed.

Tuesday:

Baby Bookworms:

For babies who are not yet walking and their caregivers. Enjoy one-on-one lap time engaging in stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and more. 20 minutes of stories, songs, etc. followed by 10 minutes of playtime and caregiver interaction. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks. No registration needed.

For kids in grades K-3rd. Learn about famous artists, writers, and inventors while exploring Latino culture and the Spanish language through music, art, and snacks!  No registration needed.

Music in Motion: 

For children 2 through 5 years. Child attends with caregiver. The focus of Music in Motion is stories, rhythm & music, and it is geared towards active children! Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks. No registration needed.

Stories, songs, a flannelboard, and a craft are included. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks. Please choose either Thursday OR Friday, but not both. This is the same storytime offered on different days to accommodate caregiver schedules.

Thursdays with Miss Joya 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Preschool S.T.E.A.M. Stations

Explore various activities that will build your child’s early literacy skills. This drop-in program is designed for children ages 2-6 and their caregivers and takes place in the Project Room on the Children's Floor. Discover how everyday household items can become learning tools for your child. No registration needed. Preschool S.T.E.A.M. Stations runs every Thursday & Friday morning during the Winter storytime session.

Parachute Playtime!

A fun-filled 30 minute parachute playtime for walking toddlers through 5 years old. Child attends with caregiver. Music, rhymes, games, and lots of fun shakin' the 'chute! No registration needed.

Kids ages 6-8 can explore stories and more with science, technology, engineering, art, and math in this fun after-school program. Caregiver must stay in the building but does not attend with the child. The Winter session runs for 7 weeks.

Going Green — January 10th

To celebrate “national cut your energy costs day” we will explore what energy is and how we can conserve (save) energy!

Electricity — January 17th

It’s Benjamin Franklin’s birthday! We will learn more about some of his amazing discoveries with hands on science.

Kitchen Science — January 24th

There are so many science experiments we can do with things we find in our fridge and pantries! We’ll do multiple experiments with food/kitchen items.

Slither and Slime — January 31st

Today is “National Serpent Day”! We will learn about animals that slither (some slimy and some not) and then make some slime

Elements — February 7th

It’s “National Periodic Table Day” . We will learn about the periodic table as we explore the elements and related parts of science.

Heart — February 14th

We’ll make some art focusing on hearts as well as learn how the heart works!

Wonderful Wildlife — February 21st

National Wildlife Day is held twice a year, and today is one of them! We’ll learn all about local  wildlife as well as some exotic wildlife.
