Summer Storytime Schedule:

The Summer Storytime Session runs for 7 weeks: Monday, June 4th through Friday, July 20th, 2018. Click on the times below to register for a storytime starting Tuesday, May 29th, or call us at 440-352-3383. Select the storytime on the Library Calendar for registration prompt. Many of our storytimes are drop-in and require no registration.

NEW this summer, join Miss Jillianne once a month at the Veteran’s Park gazebo during the Painesville Farmer’s Market for a fun outdoor storytime!
No registration needed, all ages welcome. *Weather permitting*
Thursday, May 31st from 12:30 - 1:00 PM
Thursday, June 14th from 12:30 - 1:00 PM
Thursday, July 19th from 12:30 - 1:00 PM

Also, Tuesdays starting June 5th—July 17th, join Miss Jillianne at 12:30 PM at the State Street Park for a fun 30 outdoor storytime during the PCLS Book Box! *Weather permitting* 

Toddler Tales:

For children 3 years old and younger. Child attends with caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, and flannelboards especially for little ones. Help children develop a life-long love of reading and the Library. Summer storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

Toddler Playtime

NEW FOR SUMMER 2018! Ready, set, play! Join caregivers and children ages 3 and under for a fun open playtime in the Story Room following Toddler Tales. We provide the toys, you provide the play! Your child will enjoy playing with toys designed to help reach developmental milestones. Caregivers must stay with children in the Story Room.

No registration needed.

Monday in the Story Room 10:30 - 11:00 AM

Baby Bookworms:

For babies who are not yet walking and their caregivers. Enjoy one-on-one lap time engaging in stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and more. 20 minutes of stories, songs, etc. followed by 10 minutes of playtime and caregiver interaction. Summer storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

No registration needed.

Tuesday with Miss Andi 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Books at Bedtime:

For children 18 months through 5 years. Child attends with caregiver. Join us for a bedtime storytime! Kids can wear their PJs and cuddle with a stuffed animal. Stories, songs, a flannelboard and a craft are included. Summer storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

No registration needed.

Monday with Miss Dana 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Hora de Cuentos:

Para niños de 4 a 8 años.  Canciones, rimas, juegos e historias con un enfoque al lenguaje español y las culturas hispanas.  Los niños asisten sin los acompañantes, pero al final los ayudarán con una pequeña artesanía. No se necesita matriculación.

For children ages  4-8.  Songs, rhymes, games and stories with a focus on the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.  Children attend without caregivers, but caregiver helps with a small craft at the end. No registration needed. 

Wednesday with Miss Andi 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Music in Motion: 

For children 2 through 5 years. Child attends with caregiver. The focus of Music in Motion is stories, rhythm & music, and it is geared towards active children! Summer storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

No registration needed.

Wednesday with Miss Amber 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Preschool/Kindergarten Storytime:

For children 3 years to 6 years. Child attends without a caregiver, but the caregiver helps with the craft at the end. Join us for a storytime with a special focus on early literacy skills. Stories, songs, a flannelboard, and a craft are included. Summer storytime session runs for 7 weeks. Please choose either Wednesday OR Thursday, but not both. This is the same storytime offered on different days to accommodate summer schedules.

Parachute Playtime!

A fun-filled 30 minute parachute playtime for walking toddlers through 5 years old. Child attends with caregiver. Music, rhymes, games, and lots of fun shakin' the 'chute!

Thursday with Miss Andi 11:00 - 11:30 AM

Preschool S.T.E.A.M. Stations

Explore various activities that will build your child’s early literacy skills. This drop-in program is designed for children ages 2-6 and their caregivers and takes place in the Project Room on the Children's Floor. Discover how everyday household items can become learning tools for your child.

No registration needed. Summer dates are June 6th, June 20th, and July 18th.

Specific Wednesdays 10:30 - 11:00 AM

Tot Bop!

NEW FOR SUMMER 2018! Get ready to rock at the Tot Bop! Join us for a fun-filled 30 minute jam session, designed for young toddlers and preschoolers. We'll play instruments like the xylophone, tambourines, maracas, triangles, rhythm sticks, castanets, bells, and more as we sing along and learn new songs! The Summer Storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

No registration needed. 

Friday with Miss Barbara 10:00 - 10:30 AM

Stories & S.T.E.A.M:

Kids ages 6-8 can explore stories and more with science, technology, engineering, art, and math in this fun after-school program. Caregiver must stay in the building but does not attend with the child. Spring session runs for 7 weeks.

Weekly Stories & S.T.E.A.M. Schedule:

OCEAN DAY—June 8th
We will learn about Ocean currents, Octopus ink, and help save the animals from the freezing ocean!

WIND DAY—June 15th
We will learn how wind works, how it helps birds migrate and make some crafts that will help us detect wind!

SUN DAY— June 22nd
We will learn about the biggest star while making suncatchers and a craft to help you see how hot or cold it is outside!

BUBBLE DAY—June 29th
We will learn the 3 key ingredients to bubbles, how to make bubbles last longer, and have fun with bubbles!

We will learn about explosions with a few science experiments and make firework art for you to take home!

SOUND DAY—July 13th
We will learn about sound waves, echoes, and make our own musical instruments to take home!

MOON DAY— July 20th
We will learn about the moon and it’s phases and make some moon rocks!
