We take a short break from our regularly scheduled 7-week storytime sessions during the holidays. The Winter Storytime Session will begin on Monday, January 7th, 2019 and run for 7 weeks through Friday, February 22nd. See the full Winter Storytime Schedule below the Holiday Storytime Schedule.

Holiday Storytime Schedule:

NEW for November & December, 2018! The Children's Room will have a full week of drop-in holiday storytimes in December to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season. Check out the Library Calendar for a complete schedule here. No registration needed for these storytimes.

Winter Storytime Schedule:

The Winter Storytime Session runs for 7 weeks: Monday, January 7th through Friday, February 22nd, 2019. Click on the times below to register for a storytime starting Wednesday, January 2nd, or call us at 440-352-3383. Select the storytime on the Library Calendar for registration prompt. Many of our storytimes are drop-in and require no registration. 

Toddler Tales:

For children 3 years old and younger. Child attends with caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, and flannelboards especially for little ones. Help children develop a life-long love of reading and the Library. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks. 

No registration needed.

Mondays with Miss Andi 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Baby Bookworms:

For babies who are not yet walking and their caregivers. Enjoy one-on-one lap time engaging in stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and more. 20 minutes of stories, songs, etc. followed by 10 minutes of playtime and caregiver interaction. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

No registration needed.

Tuesdays with Miss Andi 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Books at Bedtime:

For children 18 months through 5 years. Child attends with caregiver. Join us for a bedtime storytime! Kids can wear their PJs and cuddle with a stuffed animal. Stories, songs, a flannelboard and a craft are included. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

No registration needed.

Mondays with Miss Joya 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Hora de Cuentos:

Para niños de 4 a 8 años.  Canciones, rimas, juegos e historias con un enfoque al lenguaje español y las culturas hispanas.  Los niños asisten sin los acompañantes, pero al final los ayudarán con una pequeña artesanía. No se necesita matriculación.

For children ages  4-8.  Songs, rhymes, games and stories with a focus on the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.  Children attend without caregivers, but caregiver helps with a small craft at the end. No registration needed. 

Wednesdays with Miss Andi 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Music in Motion: 

For children 2 through 5 years. Child attends with caregiver. The focus of Music in Motion is stories, rhythm & music, and it is geared towards active children! Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks.

No registration needed.

Wednesdays with Miss Amber 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Preschool/Kindergarten Storytime:

For children 3 years to 6 years. Child attends without a caregiver, but the caregiver helps with the craft at the end. Join us for a storytime with a special focus on early literacy skills. Stories, songs, a flannelboard, and a craft are included. Winter storytime session runs for 7 weeks. Please choose either Wednesday OR Thursday, but not both. This is the same storytime offered on different days to accommodate caregiver schedules.

Parachute Playtime!

A fun-filled 30 minute parachute playtime for walking toddlers through 5 years old. Child attends with caregiver. Music, rhymes, games, and lots of fun shakin' the 'chute!

No registration needed.

Thursdays with Miss Andi 11:00 - 11:30 AM

Preschool S.T.E.A.M. Stations

Explore various activities that will build your child’s early literacy skills. This drop-in program is designed for children ages 2-6 and their caregivers and takes place in the Project Room on the Children's Floor. Discover how everyday household items can become learning tools for your child. Preschool S.T.E.A.M. Stations are held Wednesday one week and Thursday the following week for the entire Winter Storytime Session.

No registration needed. Winter dates are Jan. 9th, 17th, 23rd, & 31st, and Feb. 6th, 14th, & 20th

Specific Dates 10:30 - 11:00 AM

Stories & S.T.E.A.M:

Kids ages 6-8 can explore stories and more with science, technology, engineering, art, and math in this fun after-school program. Caregiver must stay in the building but does not attend with the child. Fall session runs for 7 weeks.

Cryptography and Codes  - January 11th

What does it take to be a spy? Today we’ll learn and solve some codes and create an invisible ink message. 

Wonderful Wildlife—January 18th

What do animals do when the weather starts to get cold? In honor of Winnie the Pooh day we will be looking at  bears and other animals in winter.

Warm Up in Winter — January 25th

What keeps things warm? Today we’ll learn about reactions that give off heat as well as how blubber keeps  us warm.

Shadow Science— February 2nd

What makes a shadow and why does it follow us? In honor of Groundhog Day we will learn about what creates shadows.

heARTs —February 9th

Can you feel the love? Today we are going to get inspiration from Valentine’s Day to create some fun crafts and cool experiments!

Mountains — February 16th

How are mountains formed? Today we’ll be creating our own mountains and learning all about how they can change over time.

Winter Night Skies — February  23rd

What do we see in the stars? Today we’ll learn about the stars and constellations we see during the winter time and learn about a citizens science project.
