Teen Programs 2019

Morley Library's Teen Services Department provides inclusive programming to all teens in our community, and serves as a resource to support the informational, recreational, and educational needs of teens.

The programs listed below are intended for teens in grades 7 - 12.  Register online by clicking on the program date and completing the registration form.  Teens may also register for programs at the Reference Desk on the 3rd floor, or call Morley Library at 440-352-3383.

Teens Read with 3 For Me coming soon in September!

Morley Library wants teens to easily access the books and information they need with the new 3 for Me card!

What can you do with a 3 for Me card?

  • Borrow up to 3 print books per checkout!
  • Borrow e-books & e-audiobooks on your phone or tablet too!
  • Access Morley Library's free online resources like Tutor.com and more!
  • Never get fines or late fees for lost or overdue books!
  • Sign up easily for a 3 For Me card if you are between the ages of 13-17 without a parent/guardian signature!
  • Be an existing Morley Library cardholder AND a 3 For Me cardholder at the same time!

September Programs

Teens Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month!

Sunday, September 1 - Monday, September 30

For the month of September, Teens can show their library card at the 3rd floor Reference Desk for a piece of candy, then enter our drawing for a chance to win a $10 Amazon gift card and a popular teen book!  If you don't have a library card, it's easy to sign up for one at the Circulation Desk!  Don't forget to ask about our new 3 For Me card! 

Teen Hangout

3:00 - 4:30 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 10, 17, 24 in the Basement Classroom

Join us at the library every Tuesday for gaming, hanging out with friends, and creating DIY crafts!  No registration is necessary.  Bring friends!

Teen Slime Competition

6:30 - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 10 in the Activity Room

Who can make the grossest, prettiest, or fluffiest slime?  We'll have an array of ingredients available to create the weirdest slime imaginable!  Challenge your friends and have fun in this friendly STEM competition at the library.  Registration is required.

Teens Celebrate Banned Book Week!

Sunday, September 22 - Saturday, September 28

Celebrate intellectual freedom and your right to read!  Visit our interactive book display to learn about the various reasons books are censored and check out a challenged book.

Teen Movie Night:  Captain Marvel

6:30 - 8:30 pm on Tuesday, September 24 in the Activity Room

Enjoy pizza with friends and watch Captain Marvel tap into her amazing powers, discover her true identity, and battle Skrulls!  No registration is necessary.

October Programs

3:00 - 4:30 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 in the Basement Classroom

Join us at the library every Tuesday for gaming, hanging out with friends, and creating DIY crafts!  No registration is necessary.  Bring friends!

Teen Movie Night:  Spider-Man, Into the Spider-Verse

6:30 - 8:30 pm on Tuesday, October 15 in the Activity Room

Watch Miles Morales become Spider-Man and meet up with his counterparts from other dimensions!  We'll have pizza and popcorn.  Bring friends!  No registration necessary. 

Día de los Muertos Teen Celebration

6:30 - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, October 29 in the Activity Room

One of the most familiar symbols of el Día de los Muertos celebrations are calaveras, or skulls.  Join us to decorate sugar skulls with colorful icing in honor of deceased loved ones and learn more about this traditional Latin American holiday.  Registration is required. 

November Programs

Teen Movie Night:  Avengers Endgame

6:30 - 8:30 pm on Tuesday, November 12 in the Activity Room

With the Universe in ruins after Thanos snapped his fingers, the remaining Avengers must find a way to reverse the damage.  Enjoy pizza and popcorn with friends as we watch this long-anticipated sequel to Infinity Wars.  No registration necessary. 

Teen Tech Party:  Game of Drones!

6:30 - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, November 19 in the Basement Classroom

Navigate drones around obstacles and attempt to land them accurately in this friendly flying competition.  Registration is required.

Extreme Gingerbread Challenge for Teens

6:30 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 10 in the Basement Meeting Rooms A & B

Put your creativity and engineering skills to the test by building a gingerbread house of your own design that won't fall down!  We'll have plenty of traditional materials and seasonal decorations to create a beautiful, solid, and tasty house!  Registration is required.
