BACK TO SCHOOL BASH
AUGUST 8, 2015 FROM 9 A.M. – 3 P.M.
HARVEY HIGH SCHOOL
For several years, children from low-income families in Lake County have begun the new school year equipped with fresh pencils, notebooks, backpacks, and other supplies thanks to the cooperative efforts of local businesses and organizations. This year, Salvation Army is collecting donations for school supplies.
The following items are requested:
|Glue sticks||Bottle glue|
|Wide Rule Notebooks||Blue/Black Pens|
|Colored pencils||Pencil pouches|
|Washable markers||3 ring binders|
|Scissors||Dry erase markers|
|Wide Rule Paper||Kleenex|
If you would like to donate, please drop off the donated school supplies at the Salvation Army, 69 Pearl St. Painesville, Ohio 44077. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can make a check payable to The Salvation Army, on the memo line write “school supplies”. Mail checks to The Salvation Army 69 Pearl St. Painesville, Ohio 44077. School supplies will be distributed on August 8, 2015 at the Salvation Army in Painesville.
Also, on August 8, the Lake County General Health District (LCGHD), the Salvation Army and many local organizations are holding the 3rd Annual Back to School Bash at Harvey High School from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This event will include free haircuts for adults and children, books, clothing, sports physicals, cholesterol screenings, blood pressure screenings, immunizations, food distribution (limited supply available), and other services available to help families get ready for school. Everything is free. “This is a time to improve the overall health of the community and have the children get off to a good start”, says Kathy Milo, Director of Health Promotion and Planning at LCGHD.
