Holden Arboretum Tree Tale Tellers

Friday, April 20th & Friday, April 27th - Story Room - 10:00 - 10:30 AM

Join us for a special storytime with Holden Arboretum's Tree Tale Tellers to celebrate Arbor Day! Help us honor our friends, the trees, with special stories, songs, and rhymes.

No registration needed.

Mad Scientist Lab

Saturday, April 21st - Project Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

For kids in grades K-3rd. Do you love science? Then this is the lab for you! Learn about the happenings in a laboratory as we do a science experiment, play a game, and read a story.

Registration is necessary and will begin 2 weeks before the program on April 7th

April Baby Craft

Tuesday, April 24th - Project Room - 10:30 - 11:00 AM

For babies ages 0-2. Enjoy a free half hour art session for caregivers and babies. Make a thumbprint tree for Arbor Day.

Registration is necessary and begins 2 weeks before the program on April 10th. Please just register your baby's name.

Make a FREE kids craft! Drop by the Children's Room Rotunda to make a fun, free magic color scratch mask. As supplies last, small children may need help.

Celebrate Arbor Day!

Saturday, April 28th - Story Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

Be a hero! Save a Tree!  We invite families with children ages 12 and under to come and make a fun gift for someone in your life with recycled paper and seeds while watching the 1972 version of The Lorax.  After your gift has been enjoyed, it can be planted to grow gorgeous flowers for the garden!
 
This is a family program and no registration is needed.

Find the Pets Scavenger Hunt

Tuesday, May 1st through Tuesday, May 15th

Kids 12 and under can participate in a fun, FREE picture Scavenger Hunt in the Children's Room. Find all 10 pictures hidden around the Children's Room and turn in your sheet for a free, small prize from the treasure chest. Limit once per child, please.

Mom & Me Paint Class

Saturday, May 5th - Meeting Room AB - 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM 

We invite children in grades Kindergarten through 6th to join us with their mother, grandmother, aunt, or any special woman in their life for a FREE Mom & Me Paint Class. This is a parent/child class and groups must register in pairs of two. Create a one-of-a-kind painting with step-by-step instruction from Amber from Ariel Inspired in Painesville (https://arielinspired.appointy.com).

Registration is required and opens 2 weeks before the class on Saturday, April 21st. Please register your child and yourself separately.

Superhero School!

Saturday, May 12th - Story Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

POW! SMASH! BAM!  Do you have a hidden super power?  Can you melt ice with your fiery glare?  Can you knock over cardboard buildings with a single strike?  Can you eat ALL your vegetables?  Then hone your super powers at our Superhero School! We will train up our super powers and enjoy a photo op in your super hero costumes.  We might even have to face an evil villain or two! Superhero costumes optional but highly encouraged!

This is a family program for kids ages 12 and under and no registration is needed.

Jedi Training

Saturday, May 19th - Story Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

For kids in grades K-3rd. Celebrate the upcoming new Star Wars movie with a morning of Jedi Training! Play Jedi games, make a craft, and enjoy a galactic snack with fellow trainees? The force will be strong with these young Jedis--do they have what it takes to graduate training?

Registration is necessary and will begin 2 weeks before the program on May 5th.

Libraries Rock! Stop by the Children's Room to register your child, age birth through entering 7th grade, for the Morley Library Children's Summer Reading Club! The Summer Reading Club runs for 8 weeks and every day that your child reads for 20 minutes or more s/he will receive an entry for our big prize drawing! With fun weekly prizes, amazing performers, and awesome weekly programs, summer will never have a dull moment at Morley Library! Libraries Rock, and Pet Rocks Rule! Families with children ages 12 and under can drop by the Project Room on the Children's floor to make their very own pet rock. Add paint, wiggle eyes, yarn, buttons, feathers, and more to customize your pet rock, then take him home to live happily ever after with you! Parents, you may want to bring a cover-up because this could get messy. No registration needed.

Get ready to sing your heart out! Watch a classic musical children's movie every Monday afternoon during the Summer Reading Club (except Monday, July 9th), and sing along to your favorite tunes! Friday, June 8th - Meeting Rooms AB - 2:00 - 3:00 PM

Libraries Rock! Take a tromp through the swamp with children's musician Tom Sieling with a top 10 line-up of the world's most fun, participatory kid's songs sure to engage the whole family. Jam along with Tom and his guitar in this all-ages sing-along.

Due to limited seating, this is a TICKETED EVENT. Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Children's Desk starting Friday, June 1st.

Touch-a-Truck!

Saturday, June 9th - Parking lot behind Morley Library (Job & Family Services lot) - 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Are you wild about trucks? Get up close and personal! We will have an assortment of awesome trucks and vehicles on hand to explore in the parking lot behind the library, plus you can meet the pros who operate them. No registration needed.

Calling all families (with children age 12 and under) to the library for a morning filled with musical fun! Sing some karaoke together, play a life-size game of memory (musical style), and maybe even some musical charades. No registration is needed, just drop into the Story Room on the Children's floor.

Families with children 12 and under, do you have what it takes to Name that Tune?  Team up and Identify the movie that each song segment is from to win the game!  Afterword, we’ll show our musical prowess with a marching band parade.  We’re sure to work up an appetite, so when the fun is done, we’ll wind down with a musical craft, rockin’ snacks, and juice! No registration needed.

Juggler Matt Jergens

Friday, June 29th - Meeting Rooms AB - 2:00 - 3:00 PM

Matt's back at Morley Library! International gold medalist juggler Matt Jergens will perform his award-winning show featuring amazing juggling skills, music, high energy, laughter, and fun. Watch Matt spin plates, juggle hilariously crazy items, and ride a giant unicycle!

Due to limited seating, this is a TICKETED EVENT. Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Children's Desk starting Friday, June 22nd.

Space Rocks!

Saturday, June 30th - Project Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

Join us for a celebration of National Meteor Day! Meteors are space dust and ice that enter the earth's atmosphere. Meteors can be as small as specks of dust! During this program you'll be able to help us paint our giant moon, see how craters are formed by dropping a "meteor", and even make Moon Rocks to take home. This program is geared towards families with children 12 and under. No registration needed.

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Step right up to the Morley Library Indoor Carnival! We have something for everyone folks:  ring toss, glitter tattoos, silly photo ops, and popcorn! If you're up for a mind-bending mystery, try our rubber ducky prize station! If you’re tired of the heat, bugs and humidity come on down and enjoy a morning of old-fashioned fun. We’ll have snacks, activities and games galore, and all for FREE! All ages welcome, and no registration needed.

Outback Ray's Amazing Animal Show!

Join us for this educational, entertaining show and meet Outback Ray's amazing animals! From Spongebob the Python to Oscar the cockroach and everything in between! Fun for the whole family!

Don't forget--today is the LAST DAY of the Children's Summer Reading Club: Libraries Rock! All tickets for the prize drawing need to be turned into the prize containers on the Children's floor by 5:00 pm.
