Fall Paws 2 Read

Attention young readers, certified therapy dogs will be stopping by on specific dates from October through December from 6:30 to 7:30 to sit with you and listen to you read. This program is intended for independent readers ages 5 to 12. Parent or guardian must sign waiver. First come, first seated for a 10 minute reading slot - no pre-registration.

Kids Scavenger Hunt

Tuesday, October 1st through Tuesday, October 15th

Kids 12 and under can participate in a fun, FREE picture Scavenger Hunt in the Children's Room. Find all 10 pictures hiding around the Children's Room, then turn in your sheet for a free, small prize from the treasure chest. Limit once per child, please.

Homeschool Passport: Children's Day in Brazil

Tuesday, October 15th - Project Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

Calling all homeschoolers ages 6-9! Join us for an adventure through a different country each month. We will learn about the country’s culture, traditions, and foods. Each child will receive their own passport, which will be stamped upon entering each country! Registration for each class is required and will begin two weeks prior to each class. Classes will be held on Tuesday mornings from 11:00-11:45 AM in the Project Room on the Children’s floor. October 15th is Children's Day in Brazil.

Make a FREE kids craft! Drop by the Children's Story Room to make a fun and free kids craft. As supplies last, small children may need help. No registration needed.

Fall Toddler Craft: Painted Canvas Tote

Monday, October 21st - Project Room - 10:30 - 11:00 AM

For toddlers 2-4.  Enjoy a free half hour art session with your toddler and leave the mess to us!  Your little one will be proud to show off their very own tote bag decorated by themselves for all their fall needs!  Be sure to have your child bring or wear a cover-up.

Registration is required and begins two weeks before the program on Tuesday, October 7th.

Halloween Happenings!

Saturday, October 26th - The Children's Room - 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Join us for Halloween Happenings at Morley Library! Kids 12 and under can trick-or-treat at 4 stops around the Library, make 3 different crafts on the Children's Floor, and participate in a fun scavenger hunt for a free, small prize. No registration needed, drop in any time from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Costumes encouraged but not required. Happy Halloween!

Día de los Muertos

Saturday, October 26th - Story Room - 2:00 - 2:45 PM

For families with children 12 and under.  Join us a few days before November 1st, el Día de los Muertos and learn about this colorful, joyous celebration through music, stories, and a traditional sugar skull craft.  This event takes place during Halloween Happenings.  No registration needed.

Cookies & Canvas

Saturday, November 2nd - Project Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

Cookies & Canvas is back! Kids in grades K-3rd will follow a paint tutorial to make a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork to take home. We will enjoy assorted cookies at the end while our paintings dry.

Registration is required and begins 2 weeks before the program on October 19th. Please dress for mess--we will be using acrylic paints that do NOT wash out.

Juggler Matt Jergens

Saturday, November 9th - Meeting Rooms - 2:00 - 2:45 PM

Matt's back at Morley Library! International gold medalist juggler Matt Jergens will perform his award-winning show featuring amazing juggling skills, music, high energy, laughter, and fun. Watch Matt spin plates, juggle hilariously crazy items, and ride a giant unicycle! This is a family program and no registration is needed.

Family Turkey BINGO!

Gobble gobble! Turkey day is almost here so celebrate library-style! Families with children ages 12 and under are invited to enjoy a Thanksgiving story and then build their own turkey-themed BINGO boards and play a few rounds of Turkey BINGO! Every child will receive a prize. No registration needed.

Baby Ornament Craft

Tuesday, December 3rd & Tuesday December 10th - Project Room - 10:00 - 10:30 AM

For babies age 0-1.  Enjoy two free half-hour art sessions with baby and create a keepsake for when your little one isn’t so little anymore!  Press baby's feet or hands into salt dough to create an awesome holiday ornament and then come back the next week to decorate them! 

Registration is required and begins two weeks before the program on Tuesday, November 19th. This is a two-day craft project so please plan on attending both days, Dec. 3rd and 10th.

Family Holiday Cookie Decorating

Saturday, December 7th - Project Room - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

We invite families to join us for a fun morning of holiday cookie decorating! Drop by the Project Room on the Children's Floor between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM to frost and decorate a pre-baked cookie. Then enjoy it here or take it home for a special treat. All supplies provided for free by Morley Library. No registration needed.

The Polar Express

Saturday, December 14th - Meeting Rooms AB - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

All aboard the Polar Express! For children ages 3-8 and their parents. Celebrate the magic of the holiday season with the classic children's movie, The Polar Express. Kids will be decorating cardboard box train cars and watching the movie "drive-in" style, then taking the cars home after the movie. Light snacks will be served.

Registration is necessary as space is limited. Registration opens 2 weeks before the program on Nov. 30th. Please register your child(s) name, not yourself. Parents must stay with children.

Family Gift Makerspace

Saturday, December 21st - Project Room - 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

For families with children 12 and under.  Oh no! Did you forget to do your holiday shopping?  Haven’t been able to find the perfect gift?  Come and make some gifts for your loved ones here at Morley library!  Our makerspace will be set up for some creative holiday fun with several crafts you can make to give to someone you love. No registration is necessary.

Reading with Reptiles

Saturday, December 28th - Story Room - 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

We are offering independent readers under the age of 12 an exciting way to practice reading! Four tame lizards from the Herps Alive Foundation in South Euclid are visiting with us for you to pet/hold as you read your favorite picture book to them! Registration required. Starting December 14th please call 440-352-3383 or stop by to pick your favorite lizard (pictures will be available at the children's desk) and sign up for a 15 minute time slot between 10:30-12:00.
 
Participants should be able to read on their own for this program. Younger siblings not yet reading are welcome to share a time slot with an older sibling.

Libraries Transform
