Kids Indoor Carnival ~ Saturday, July 6th ~ 3 hour shift from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

The 2019 Children's Summer Reading Club: A Universe of Stories

Tuesday, May 28th through Friday, July 19th

A Universe of Stories ~ Stop by the Children's Room to register your child, age birth through entering 7th grade, for the Morley Library Children's Summer Reading Club! The Summer Reading Club runs for 8 weeks and every day that your child reads for 20 minutes or more s/he will receive an entry for our big prize drawing! With fun weekly prizes, amazing performers, and awesome weekly programs, summer will never have a dull moment at Morley Library! KIDS CRAFTERNOON!

Make a FREE kids craft! Drop by the Children's Story Room to make a fun and free magic scratch solar system craft. As supplies last, small children may need help. No registration needed.

Bilingual Storytime with the Painesville Police Department

Saturday, June 22nd - Story Room - 11:00 - 11:30 AM

We apologize for any inconvenience, but this program has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled this fall. Come and get up close and personal with a Painesville Police Department in this bilingual Storytime! A Painesville Police Officer will read you a story or two in both and English and Spanish. Afterwards, you can enjoy a fun craft and meet the Police Officer! No registration is necessary.

Outback Ray's Amazing Animal Show ***THIS EVENT HAS SOLD OUT ***

Saturday, June 22nd - Meeting Rooms AB - 1:00 - 2:00 PM

Join us for this educational, entertaining show and meet Outback Ray's amazing animals! From Spongebob the Python to Oscar the cockroach and everything in between! Fun for the whole family!

Due to limited seating, this is a TICKETED EVENT. Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Children's Desk starting Saturday, June 15th.

Saturday, June 29th - Story Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

Maybe you have heard of Orion the constellation but have you ever heard of Orion the multipurpose crew vehicle? NASA used to rely on ocean landings called "splashdowns" to get their crew back safely to Earth. Come learn more about NASA and their crew exploration vehicles. Then you will get to build your very own Crew Exploration Vehicle with your family. Once designed and built, your CEV will be put through our very own "splashdown test" to see whether it is up to the task! This program is geared towards families with children 12 and under and no registration is required.

Monday, July 1st through Monday, July 15th

Kids 12 and under can participate in a fun, FREE picture Scavenger Hunt in the Children's Room. Find all 10 pictures hiding around the Children's Room, then turn in your sheet for a free, small prize from the treasure chest. Limit once per child, please.

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Step right up to the Morley Library Indoor Carnival! We have something for everyone folks:  ring toss, glitter tattoos, silly photo ops, and popcorn! If you're up for a mind-bending mystery, try our rubber ducky prize station! If you’re tired of the heat, bugs, and humidity come on down and enjoy a morning of old-fashioned fun. We’ll have snacks, activities and games galore, and all for FREE! All ages welcome, and no registration needed.

Space Ranger Training

Saturday, July 13th - Story Room - 11:00 - 11:45 AM

Do you think you have what it takes to be a space ranger? Decode alien messages, test your precision with bowling, and complete other missions. Families with children 12 and under are asked to join us to receive their certification as a space ranger. No registration is needed.

Baby Craft

Tuesday, July 16th - Project Room - 10:30 - 11:00 AM

For babies age 0-1.  Enjoy a free half hour art session with baby and create a keepsake for when your little one isn’t so little anymore!  Fake your own moon landing and, as evidence, show your baby’s footprints on the moon! 

Registration is required and begins two weeks before the program on Tuesday, July 2nd. Please register your baby's name only.

The LAST Day of the Children's Summer Reading Club!

Don't forget--today is the LAST DAY of the Children's Summer Reading Club: Libraries Rock! All tickets for the prize drawing need to be turned into the prize containers on the Children's floor by 5:00 pm. The prize drawing will take place during the week of July 22nd and all winners will be contacted by phone. Good luck and thanks for reading with Morley Library this summer!

Party in the Park!

Painesville Veteran's Park on the square ~ Friday, July 19th from 1:00 - 5:00 PM and Saturday, July 20th from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

It's time for Party in the Park, Ohio's largest free music festival right here in Painesville! Visit the "Family Fun Zone" and look for the Morley Library Family Scavenger Hunt. Kids who find all 10 signs hidden near the Family Fun Zone can turn in their sheet for a free prize! Don't miss out on all the fun!
