The 100 Club is a book club for students entering Kindergarten-3rd grade and is based on the 150 Picture Books Everyone Should Know book-lists from the New York Public Library, School Library Journal and other popular picture book lists.
The program is self-paced with ongoing registration and no specific starting or ending date. The goal is to read 100 out of the 150 books listed.
A child receives credit for a book if he/she reads it on his/her own, has the book read to him/her, or reads the book to someone else. A parent/guardian must initial each book box for the child to receive credit.
When your child reads 100 books, bring the reading log to the Children’s Department for a special button and a nameplate for the 100 Club Wall of Fame!
The 150 Picture Books Everyone Should Know may include books your child has already read. Please reread the book(s) to receive credit for the 100 Club.
The 150 Picture Books Everyone Should Know features books on a variety of reading levels. After your child reads a book, encourage him/her to consider why the book made the list.
